The Schlieffen Plan was the German plan to quickly eliminate the enemies of Germany and bring a quick victory to WW1. They were to take Paris by 6 weeks and to invade through Belgium. Then they would turn around and attack Russia before they had mobilized.
The Black Hand
Britain might join the war because Germany was attacking an innocent nation.
Russia had mobilized much quicker than the Germans thought.
Narrow Long Ditches
They prevented enemy troops from simply shooting down the trench, they also prevented gas attacks and less lives were lost when an artillery shell hit.
They transported wounded soldiers. They transported weapons. They boosted morale.
Soldiers became bonded with their animals and did not feel alone. They could carry supplies.
No Man's Land
The Germans were pushed back and started to retreat. Germany had riots because the population was starving.
The Germans blew up an American ship.
An armistice was signed (Ceasefire).
They had a crop failure, and couldn't supply the population.
They were invaded by the UK and Russia, leaving 6 million dead.
Their army collapsed and soldiers mutinied.
