what are the four stages of digestion
Absorbtion, Ingestion, Digestion and Excertion
whats the difference between physical and chemical digestion. give an Example
physical is chewimg bc it changes the appearance. Chemical is the enzymes in your mouth they change the chemicals in the food
what is carbohydrates function in the body and the enzymes
use energy the enzymes are Maltose and Amylose
whats proteins use in the body and the enzymes
use in the body build and repair muscles enzymes Hydrolic acid and Protease
whats the lipids use in the body and the enzymes
the use is to keep your body warm the enzymes are fat and oil
which parts of the heart chambers are oxygenated or deoxygenated
righr atrium and right ventricle are deoxygenated and the left atrium and left ventricle are oxygenated
what are the functions of the circulatory system
to put oxygenated blood to the body as well as being nutrients through the blood
what process is used to join two molecules together
dehydration synthesis
what are the different parts of blood and theyre functiom
plasma helps fight infections responsibke for blood clotting, white blood cells immune function, red blood cells carrys oxygen
how can you tell the difference between arteries and vein
arteries walls are thicker and have more pressure. vein walls are thinner and smaller w pressure
what causes the heart sounds that you hear when you are listening through the stethoscope
its the heart valves opening and closing
how do molecules move by diffusion? why do they move?
the molecules spread through the air to balance the concentration
what is the difference between active and passive transport
the difference is active is the materials move against a concentration and passive is the concentration moving from high to low.
what is cellular respiration?
it is used to burn sugar for energy.
what is photosynthesis
plants use sunlight and turn it into energy
why are photosyntheis and cellular respriation considered complementary chemical reactions
they are complementray bc the products for photosynthesis are the reactants for cellular respriation same goes for cellular respriation the products are the reactants for photosynthesis
what would happen if you over fertilized a plant
the fertilizer will suck out all the moisture in the ground and cause the plant to be hydrated as the salt in the fertilizer would draw all the water out of the roots
desceibe the pathway a molecule of air from where it enters the body to when it reaches a cell. include all major structures in your description
The air molecules at the Nasal cavity, than to the Pharynx, Epiglottis, Larynx, Trachea, Bronchus, Lungs, Alveoli, than to the blood and back to the heart.
describe how the molecules move by diffusion? why do they move?
The molecules spread through the air to balance the concentration of the molecules in a area.
Whats the difference between active and passive transport? Why Would a cell want to use one type of transport over another?
The difference is Active Transport is the materials move against the concentration grain, passive transport is the concentration moving from high to low. Cells would want to use one type of transport over another bc passive transport is easier being high to low instead of Active transpoet which is moving against the grain.

What is the purpose of meiosis?
To produce gametes or sex cells by division
Two similarities of mitosis and meiosis
they both go through these processes to divide for life, they both go through the same stages
two differences between Meiosis and Mitosis
Meiosis goes through the stages twice, Mitosis is once. mitosis is for division for animals,plants and fungi, meiosis is for everything.

what is meant by non-disjunction? give some examples of conditons caused by nondisjunction
there was a problem with one of the phases of division. some examples are down, turner and Klinefelter syndrome
