how did the treaty of versaille cause ww2

-it punished germany harshly
-their economy collapsed, the government lost power, their military became very weak

-so germans became angry and also loyal to hitler who said he was going to change this

how did the worldwide depression cause ww2

-economic instability led to political instability and chaos
-people wanted change and hitler and the nazis offered it

-this gave rise to dictatorships like hitler in germany, mussolini in italy, franco in spain and the military dictatorship in japan

how did failure of appeasement lead to ww2

-it enabled hitler to become aggressive with his policies because everyone else was appeasing him
-for example:

-he took over rhineland when he wasnt suposed to and no one did anything

-he annexed austria and no one did anything

-france and great britain signed the munich agreement which allowed him into czechoslovakia

-ussr signed the nazi soviet pact so he wouldnt have to worry about the soviet union stopping him

-britain and france knew this so they started using appeasement to prevent war

-like when britain allowed hitler to expand german territory because they didnt want war

-an agreement between germany, france and britain that gave part of czechoslovakia (sudeten region) to germany

-japan invaded manchuria (in china) in 1931
-there was a civil war going on in china at the time berween nationalists and communists

-they refused and quit the league

-1935-italy under mussolini invades abyssinia (ethiopia) for oil because dont have their own resources
