Introduction:
This Subanon folktale tells the story of a brave and fierce young man, the widow's son, whose courage and fighting spirit lead him into numerous challenges and battles.
Body:
The widow's son goes hunting for wild pigs and captures one after a difficult battle. The pig's owner, a deity living in a white stone, invites him into his home, where they become friends. On his way back, the widow’s son encounters seven warriors, each wearing a different color. He defeats them in battle, becoming enraged and seeking more enemies. He challenges the giant Dumalagangan, and after a three-day fight, he defeats him as well. His rage continues until a diwata uses her handkerchief to render him unconscious. Upon waking, he is told to return home, where he is destined to marry the orphan girl, bringing peace to the land.
Conclusion:
The widow’s son, after his violent rampage, finds peace and returns home, where the land is promised to experience harmony due to his actions.
