U-shaped valleys are glaciated valleys shaped in the letter U.
The glacier takes the easiest roite possible, eroding the soft rock.
Plucking and abrasion reshape the river widening and deepening the valley until it becomes a u shape.

What is a Hanging Valley?
A small valley that hangs above a main valley.
The smaller glacier has less power to erode than the main glacier.
A river flows as a waterfall.

What is a Ribbon Lake?
A long narrow lake in a glaciated valley.
As the glacier passes over the valley floor, weak rocks are eroded, creating a deep hollow.
When the ice melts, the hollow fills with water. Leaving a ribbon lake.

What is a Truncated Spurs?
Glacier cuts off interlocking spurs.
What is a Fjord?
A flooded U shaped valley on the coast.
U shaped valley is formed on the coast after the Ice Age sea levels rise and flood.
