Korea was split into 2 sections (north and south) at the end of WW2. North was communist and supported by U.S.S.R. Invaded south korea to make them communist

Cominform was an organisation set up in 1947 to coordinate the European Communist parties. It was actually an organisation which enabled the Communist Party in the USSR to control the other Communist parties in Europe.

Nuclear Weapons/Missiles/Bombs

Overview of the Cold War

The Coldwar was a hostility between the U.S.S.R and America, mainly using threats surrounding nuclear weapons and propaganda (no actual war happened). Hostility between the American’s hating communism and the U.S.S.R wanting to expand more communism across Europe.

Soviet Domination in the Coldwar?

They controlled over most of Eastern Europe and forcefully turned most countries communist

How was the Cuban Missile crisis settled?

Soviet Union almost set off nuclear weapons to America but they came to a last minute decision where Soviet Union agreed to remove missiles if America removed naval blockade as well removed their nuclear weapons from Turkey.

Joseph Stalin during the Cold War

Stalin presided over the Soviet post-war reconstruction and its development of an atomic bomb in 1949. Looked over the Soviet occupation of Eastern Europe and East Germany while forging an alliance with the People's Republic of China and supporting North Korea in the Korean War

China in the Cold War?

Chinese Civil War 1946-1949, Communist gained victory. Chinese communsists also helped during the Korean War siding with the North Korea communists

What was Comecon?

Comecon was an economic agreement amongst communist nations loyal to the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Comecon stands for Council for Mutual Economic Assistance. The Soviet Union created Comecon as a response to the U.S. Marshall Plan for European recovery after WWII.
