what was postwar canada like prior to the 1920's
-prohibition
-spanish flu epidemic
-alot of unemployment because factories supporting war effort were closing
-low wages plus inflation
-large national debt
-new sense of canadian identity
how was life difficult for returning soldiers
-hard to adjust to civilian life
-few jobs
-few support services
-many were disabled or shell shocked
-felt prohibition was unfair
-felt unfair that industrialists had made a lot of money off the war they fought and they weren't being compensated at all
