scrooge in stave 4/5
shows that scrooge is too interested in business, and thinks he is much more important than everyone else
it is said in stave 1, and scrooge is talking about his opinions of the poor. it shows us his true colours and also the juxtaposition from stave one and stave five
"I mean to give him the same chance every year, whether he likes it or not, for I pity him."
"Let him in! It is a mercy he didn't shake his arm off."
[he] tried to warm himself at the candle
"I'll give you Mr. Scrooge, the Founder of the Feast!"
e hoped the people saw him in the church, because he was a cripple, and it might be pleasant to them to remember upon Christmas Day, who made lame beggars walk, and blind men see.

present-Its dark brown curls were long and free; free as its genial face, its sparkling eye, its open hand, its cheery voice, its unconstrained demeanour, and its joyful air.
