this is the main communication center wherein housekeeping information is received and coordinated with other departments such as front desk, banquet, etc. This is also the place where the staffs report for duty and checks out as well.

This is the area where misplaced items of guests are claimed.
Lost and found room
this is where current linens are stored for issue and receipt. This room must be adjoined with the in-house laundry for fast collection of soiled linens and uniforms.
Linen room
this is the room where staff uniforms are stocked. In smaller hotels, this can be combined with linens and uniforms.
Uniform room
this room stores stocks of linens and uniforms.
Housekeeping store
each hotel floor must have a floor linen room to keep the supply of linens, guests supplies, and cleaning equipment supplies.
Floor linen room
this room is where the florist prepares flower arrangements for display at various departments of the hotel.
Flower room
is from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Morning shift
starts at 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Afternoon shift
is from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am.
Graveyard shift
refers to nine hours of working.
Straight shift
the head of the housekeeping department. He/she is responsible for hotel policies, procedures, and standards related to housekeeping operations.
Executive housekeeper
he/she leads the shift in twenty-four hour housekeeping service. He/she explains the executive housekeepers policies, procedures, and standards to all housekeeping supervisors. The assistant housekeeper also performs some administrative works.
Assistant housekeeper
he/she coordinates with various department such as housekeeping personnel, maintenance department, and front office department regarding guest room maintenance and cleaning status. The control desk must be manned in all shifts because it is the lifeline for all housekeeping personnel. The control desk supervisor also controls lost and found procedures.
Control desk supervisor
he or she leads the washmen, dry cleaners, ironers in cleaning linens and uniforms.
Laundry manager
he/she is responsible for keeping uniforms in safe storage. The uniform room supervisor issues clean uniforms to hotel staff and coordinates with the laundry for cleaning of soiled uniforms.
Uniform room supervisor
he/she directs the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms. He/she also controls the resources of the floor such as room attendants and housemen, bed and bath linens, guest room amenities; and cleaning materials and equipment. He/she also supervises the storage and exchange of floor linen with the laundry and linen room.
Floor supervisor
he/she ensures the cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep of the hotel's public areas.
Public area supervisor
he/she is responsible for the maintenance of all landscapes and gardens, heading a team of gardeners, of the hotel property.
Horticulturist
he/she arranges flower displays for various departments of the hotel.
Florist
a common title for both men and women, women room attendants are also called as chambermaids, housemaids, or room maids. Room attendants are responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms according to the hotels procedures and standard. He/she reports any untoward incident to the security and safety department.
