the events that occur in a story, usually moves through six stages
a time and a place
a feeling that the writer creates due to the setting, imagery and details, authours set mood through word choice, imagery and setting
it is how a character acts and what they say and what others say and what the narrators say
it is the oppostion faced by the main character who is also known as the protagonist. if the person is opposing the main charatcter, he/she is known as the antagonist.

person vs self ( someone is self harming theirselves)

person vs socitey ( person facing social norms)
person vs technogly ( person vs computer)
person vs fate ( person facing something that is out of their control)

first person- charcater in the story is narrating it- exp twilight
third person limited- an outside perspective is telling the story and narrating it- exp harry potter
third person omnicsnt- you get the thoughts and feelings of all the charcters

3. rising action- a series of conflicts the charcter/charcters face
4. climax- where the story changes directions ( the highest moment of suspenese)
5. falling action- all the loose ends get tied up
6. conclusion
verbal irony- when people say the opposite of what they mean
situational irony- actions that have taken an effect
dramatic irony- when the audience knows something that the people in the story do not know exp: romeo and juliet
