What is communication?

It is the exchange of idea, information or message from one person to another.

Communicare means what?

"to share" or to make common"

Defined as the successful conveying or sharing of ideas of feelings. It is also described as a social contact.

Communication

It started at birth when we first interact with human touch, voices, and rhythms of the environment.

Interpersonal communication

Refers to the environment where the interaction happens or takes place.

Context

It is the place where communication happens or occurs. It can be in school, restaurant, conference room, and others.

Physical Context

It is what the communicators bring to the interaction such as their needs, desires, values, personality, etc.

Psychological context

It is a personal matter. It involves the relationship of the speaker and and the listeners.

Social context

Includes all the learned behaviors and rules that affect the interaction such as the body movements, facial expressions, and practices.

Cultural context

The source of the message who also does the encoding through speaking or writing.

Sender or speaker

The part of transforming abstract opinions and ideas into symbols such as words, pictures, signs, and marks.

Encoding

Refers to the information, ideas, feelings, opinion, thought, attitude, and view that sender wants to deliver to the receiver.

Message

The medium or tool to transit the message.

Channel

Sound and sight

Also called as the barrier that affects the message from being sent, received, or understood.

Noise

It comes from an external source or the environment where the communication.

Physical noise

It occurs when the communicator is disturbed by his/her state of health or physiological issues.

Physiological noise

Deals with words and language.

Semantic noise

It occurs as a result of personal attitudes, assumptions, and biases. And peoples perspectives and world views can be interrupted by this

Psychological noise

It is present in any form of technology.

Technical noise

It occurs when cultural expectations, etiquette, attitudes, and values differ.

Cultural noise

Is "the process of" translating an encoded system into the ordinary understandble language in contrast to the encoder.

Decoding

It is a person for whom the message is targeted contrast to the sender. The one who decodes the message.

Receiver

Refers to response of the receiver or audience.

Feedback

It is the types of communication when we talk to or communicate with ourselves.

Intrapersonal communication

The types kf communication with another person or group.

Interpersonal communication

It occurs when two people communicate face to face.

Dyadic communication

It occurs when three or more individuals connected with mutyal objectives, purpose, or identity are communicating.

Small group communication

It is the type of communication that occurs when a person delivers a speech in a public setting.

Public communication

It is called "one is to many" type of communication that uses meria to communicate to a mass audience.
