What is perfusion

Perfusion refers to the flow of blood through arteries and capillaries delivering nutrients and oxygen to cells

Risk factors: Populations at Greater Risk

Impaired perfusion (can happen to anyone during their lifetime) can potentially occur among all individuals, regardless of age, gender, race, or socioeconomic status. The populations at greatest are:

Older adults


Low-income/low-education level individuals (this relates back to social determinants of health)

Clinical management
