to keep blood flowing in 1 direction
where are the veins connected to?
valves ! (pulmonaries are an exception)

for diffusion!!

pumps blood! keeps oxygen rich blood and oxygen poor blood separated

4 chambers!

the valves!

it sends the signal for the heart ti pump blood

its the force of blood on the walls of the arteries

its the max pressure in the ventricule when it contracts
what is diastolic
its the max pressure in the atria when if contracts
waht do we use to measure blood pressure

what do Baroreceptors do
it detects the blood prssure in the ariterial walls
what happenes ifm blood pressure is too high
vasodilation, a decrease in cardiac output, removes water from blood
what happens when blood prssure is too low
vasocontrriction, increase in cardiac output and more water in the blood
where are strokes mainly found
in the brain
what does embolism mean?
blockage
what are ateriosclerosis ?
it's when the walls of Ateries thicken and lose their estalicity becoming harder
what is plasma
plasma is the fluid portion of the blood and is bright yellow
what does plasma contain
water, gases, vitamins, minerals, hormones, wates and proteins
what do red blood cells contain
no nucleus, has hemoglobin
what does the white blood cell have
a necleus
what is the white blood cell apart of?
the immune system
what are platelets for?
blood clotting
what us blood made out of
plasma, white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets
when does vasodilation happen
when the body is too hot and when blood pressure is too high
when does vasoconstrictioj happen
when the body is too cold and when blood oressure is too low

its what you body already has
eg. blood type A had A antigens
what are antibodies
it is what your body makes for the antigens you dong have
eg. blood type A+ would have anti b antibodies
what are our body's physical barriers
skin, mucus, cillia, eyelashes
