The atoms vibrate more, and they transfer some of this energy to their neighbour atoms via collisions
Why are metals the best heat conductors?
Metals have free electons which can travel freely through a material, rapidly carrying energy from hotter to cooler regions

Thickness of material, length and temperature difference
