Ibn Sina
• Persian Physician
• Wrote the 'Canon of Medicine' which contained all medical knowledge at the time
• His book was very influential and became the key medical text used in Europen schools and universities until the 1600s
• Wrote about the properties and uses of 760 drugs
• Wrote about medical problems such as strokes, dealing with fractures and obesity
Al Razi
• Persian Physician
• Identified the differences between measles and smallpox
• Wrote over 150 books - including 'Doubts about Galen'
• Patients should be carefully observed in order to track symptoms
