Through recognition, rewards, and creating a positive work environment.
What is autocratic leadership?
Is a A management style where the manager makes all the business decisions without input from employees. The manager does not trust the employees and uses the threat of punishment to motivate. an example of this is McDonald’s and Walmart.
What are the advantages of autocratic leadership?
Quick decision-making ,clear direction, Quick task complete completion and improved productivity.
What is democratic leadership?
It encourages employees to participate in decision-making in the business. They value their employees' ideas and suggestions. An example of this is marketing and accounting firms.
What are the advantages of democratic leadership
-increase intrapreneurship, future promotion and high level of motivation
What are the disadvantages of democratic leadership
Slow decision-making, frustrated employees and management resentment.
What is Laissez-faire leadership?
Management outlines the business goals and trusts employees to decide on the best way to achieve those goals. It takes a hand off approach. An example of this is pharmaceutical firms.
What are the advantages of Laissez-faire leadership?
-Highly motivated, improve skill and knowledge , employees become Intrapreneurship in Business.
What are the disadvantages of Laissez-faire leadership?
-reduced productivity, poor decision making poor and industrial relationship
What are the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs?
1.physiological-The needle for food, shelter and warmth.
2safety-they need to feel safe and secure.
3.social-The need for friendship and love.
4.esteem-The need for status, respect and appreciation.
5.Self-actualisation-they need to achieve their potential and be the best one they can be.
What is McGregor’s theory X and theory Y?
Those theories are two extremes of how management views employees' attitude to work.
What is Theory X?
Managers believe that employees dislike work, avoid taking responsibility, lack of ambition and are only motivated by money. high labor turnover . An example of leadership style is Autocratic leadership style.
What is theory Y?
Managers believe that employees like working and are willing to work hard , take additional duties , responsibility and are ambitious .there are not motivated by money.An example of leadership style is democratic or laissez-faire leadership.
Theory Y managers?
They trust their employees and they have low staff turnover.
Theory X managers?
They don’t trust their employees and they have high staff turnover.
What are the disadvantages of autocratic leadership?
-Management stress, low level of motivation and employees may feel undervalued.

Based on the team’s needs, situation, and goals.

Relying on personal charm to inspire and motivat.

Entrepreneur - make idea , takes personal and financial risk,has the full control over the business.

It involves assigning tasks to another person. example a manager delegate task to a subordinate.
What is a Empowerment?
Occurs when managers allow employees to make a certain decision on behalf of the business, without needing to consult with management. Most in Democratic leadership and Laissez-faire leadership.

Involves getting people to work together for a common organisational goal using the skills of leading, organising and controlling.
Leading?
Managers have a clear vision for the future. Managers choose the most appropriate leadership style to reach their goal.
Motivating?
Managers must find out what motivates their employees in the workplace. for example, rewards and bonuses or holidays.
Organizing?
Managers identify The rules and tasks that need to be performed by employees.
Controlling?
Management should build control mechanisms into the business such as stock control, finance control and quality control.
Planning?
Manager managers must indemnify the overall business school and break them down into more manageable tasks. Managers can use short term, medium term and long-term plans .
Communicating ?
A good manager must be able to exchange information efficiently with the shareholder such as employees and consumers.
