These are groups of people with mutual relationships, interacting upon one another, helping human organisms to carry on their life-activities as well as helping each person to fulfill his wishes and accomplish his interest with his fellows
Functional Definition
It focuses more on how we as part of the society-build our selves and others through the social heritage of our folkways, social norms, habits, sentiments, and ideas. It also gives shapes to our lives through stable patterns and social behavior.
Structural Definition
As humans we can not live by ourselves. We always depend upon others such as our parents, friends, colleagues, others, and the protection, care, and support they have given us are important factors in our survival. Just like in some sayings "No Man is an Island"
For survival
is a desire to connect with people with shared cultural heritage, fostering a sense of belonging, sympathy and approval. This psychosocial need is prevalent among Filipinos, particularly in lower socio- economic classes, across all levels of society.
Feeling of gregariousness
These are professionals whom organize themselves into societies to promote and protect their own professions. Example of these are Teachers, Students, Doctors, Lawyers, Businessman, and etc.
